"I was wondering kind of how that happened myself," Saban said. "Let me just say this. He's probably happy that he was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, but he's also being harassed a little bit about (it), not just by the other players but also by certain coaches."
If any Alabama player deserved the cover honor, it might have been outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw, whose pick six early in the second quarter broke a 10-10 tie and sent the Crimson Tide on the way to a 38-10 victory over Florida.
Did Upshaw feel slighted?
"No, not really," he said. "I haven't really seen it, but I was told this morning on the radio that Chapman was on it. I mean, I am happy for anybody on it. He's a defensive guy, so you know I am happy."
Upshaw was asked how Chapman is handling the glory.
"I guess good," Upshaw said. "Like I said, I heard about it for the first time today. I mean I haven't really heard nobody talking about it as much, so he's handling it real good. I am happy for him, though."
