The only person I see POSSIBLY taking the Barn job is Hugh Freeze. If not Freeze, then they have to find a coach from a smaller program, like Coastal Carolina. Who could possibly want to enter the Auburn "family" snakebit, back stabbing, lying, dysfunctional situation?
A review of the last 30 years;
Terry Bowden run off after 5 years with Bowden talking about all the cheating he found there. Plus, he was a bad coach.
Tommy Tuberville and Jetgate. Backstabbing trustees trying to hire Petrino from Louisville spectacularly blows up in their face. It gets Tubs another 5 years with the Family for 10 total years. He was basically an 8-4 coach.
Gene Chizik, arrives from Iowas State with a sterling 5-19 record there. He was Pat Dye's pick and easily malleable, his best quality for the boosters. He won a National Championship bought & paid for with Scam Newton. He was fired after 4 seasons with a 15-17 SEC record, 33-19 (63% winning) and career 38-38 record. Auburn Hall of Fame material at its best. Shut won 68% of his games.
Gus Malzahn, Offensive Genius. Coached 8 years at Barn, won 1 SEC title and won 66% of his games. Couldn't recruit a cockroach to a ton of sugar. Ruined Bo Nix as a passing QB.
Bryan Harsin, from Boise State. Poorest fit for a team that I've seen. Like Arnold Schwazeneggar at a Fat Farm. Incredible. What a 30 year run of losers, misfits, and poor coaching.
