Well, the Final Four starts this Saturday. Of course, we will be playing UCONN in the semifinals. UCONN is the college basketball equivalent of Alabama in football. UCONN is the defending National Champion and they have been awesome in the Tourney. They have blown out everyone & dominated them (like Bama football against LSU 2011 & Notre Dame 2012.

Here's what I think Tide has to do to beat UCONN:

1)  hit 13-14 3 pointers with a high percentage, like 13/28 (46%)
2)  shoot over 50-55% for the game
3)  rebound, especially offensive rebounds-need to get at least 10 offensive boards and at least 38-40 boards
4)  limit turnovers to 12 or less
5)  play great defense-this means play tough around the basket, interfere with passing lanes, and Griffin &
Stevenson, our 2 best defenders, have to outstanding
6)  Wrightsell will be back in the line-up Saturday, that's a huge plus
7)  Simply put, Sears, Griffin, Nelson, & Pringle need to have a solid game.
Cool  Limit our team fouls and hope Pringle stays out of foul trouble
9)  If we do all these things we might beat UCONN, they are that good.

I would absolutely LOVE for Bama to come out on top against Uconn. My gut tells me that it most likely won't happen.

Can you imagine though, how butt-hurt the Barners would be if Bama were to upset Uconn and then go on to play Purdue and win the NC?  If that happened, it would give them upset wins against three of the four #1 seed teams in the tourney.    Instead of rolling those oak trees, they would probably burn them down...

All good points MD. I would add:

1. Limit UCONN scoring runs. They had a 30-0 run against Illinois.
2. Play at our pace. UCONN likes to slow the game down.

We are a big underdog, but stranger things have happened in this tournament.

Roll Tide!!!

As CNO said; "We are playing with house money". I hope the team takes this mind set and plays loose and fast. Crazier things have indeed happened.

Win or lose, ROLL TIDE!!!

Remember, UNLV was undefeated in 1991 going into the championship game against Duke. They had played Duke in the championship game the year before and run them out of the building. The same was expected in the game but Duke won. Just one example of why the game is played to see who is the best.

This was an amazing run. I hate to see it come to an end. A tip of the cap to UCONN, they are a very good basketball team.

What will happen to our roster? Only Estrada is out of eligibility. Will Sears go pro? Will Nelson return? We have a top 10 class coming in. I am hoping we just reload and do not have a completely new team next year. CNO knows what he is doing. I trust he will put a good team together and compete for an SEC title.

I remember in 2009 after beating Texas to win his first Championship at Alabama he said, "This is not the end, it is the beginning". I feel like that applies to basketball. I like where CNO has us positioned. The program is on the rise and will only get better.

Too bad they have already given out SEC and National Coach of the year awards.

We had a good regular season. Enough to get us a 4 seed. We had a bad end to the regular season and a terrible SEC Tournament. We got hot at the right time and had a great NCAA Tournament.

It was a great season for Bama Basketball for sure.  Even though it didn't end as we hoped, our team lasted longer than I expected so I am thrilled by their performance.  CNO got a big pay increase and it looks like there is a very real possibility that Nelson might come back next year.  I doubt Sears will as he was literally one of the very best players in the country all season long.

Look forward to next year already but want to wait and see what CKD and the football team does first...

The UCONN/Purdue game was fun to watch.  The two bigs got really winded about mid-way through the first half and the game then went to the small guys taking mid-range and three point shots. I was hoping Purdue would end the hopes for a back to back by Uconn but it wasn't to be.  It seems that many are saying that "Purdue was clearly the 2nd best team this year" but I'm not convinced. I think Bama could have beaten Purdue.

NALT, I have to say I was actually pulling for UConn because of Bama. I thought this might make Bama the 2nd best team in the country. RTR!

UConn bet Purdue by 15 points. They only beat us by 14.
