Click here for linkSecond-ranked Alabama is better this season than it has been the past couple of years, Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt said today.
Why?
"Because of depth and what they do on defense," said Nutt, whose Rebels (2-3, 0-2 in the Southeastern Conference) play host to the Crimson Tide (6-0, 3-0) at 5 p.m. CDT Saturday. "They just haven't given up many explosive plays. ... They just do an excellent job of not letting you cross that last white line."
Of course, Alabama went undefeated and won the national championship two years ago.
Nutt said this year Alabama is "just a solid, solid football team," and he raved about the Tide in almost every area of the game.
He said Alabama coach Nick Saban always has a good defense, but this year there's "so much more in the package, it's very difficult to game plan."
