Despite a push by the Big 12 to keep the school in its conference, The Kansas City Star is reporting that the university could announce a move to the Southeastern Conference today. Missouri chancellor Brady Deaton is scheduled to meet with other members of the Big 12 Board of Directors in Dallas, a meeting the newspaper speculates could be a "face-to-face farewell."
Should the move take place, it would end a relationship of more than 100 years between the school and the conference, dating to 1907. The Star reports the Big 12 could make several last-ditch efforts to keep the Tigers in the league, but the school is expected to depart anyway.
