The Big 12 Conference Board of Directors have voted unanimously to accept West Virginia University as a full conference member effective July 1, 2012. The Mountaineers will begin competing in the Big 12 beginning with the 2012-13 athletic season.

Beginning with the 2012-13 season it is expected that the Big 12 Conference will be comprised of 10 Universities – Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia.

Nothing would surprise me anymore about conference realignment.

SEC might announce today, and have press conference on Monday.

I am real proud of their rifle team. The next best are Army (West Point) and Alaska (Fairbanks), but I think I heard WVU has more NCs than those 2 added together. The WVU Forestry School and Geology programs are both nationally acclaimed. High School forestry teams win NCs often. Our little county high school here won about 10 years ago.

Come on, in the MWC they already play New Mexico, UNLV, and San Diego. Joining the Big 12/10 would be a drop in competition.

I have been hoping to see a side by side comparison of what these teams will earn now as opposed to their annual gross (or just football) revenues. In particular I'm curious as to what is expected to be gained by Nebraska's move to the Big 10?
