We have to get some clutch hitters, at least two if you ask me.

Yes, the Braves would move right-hander Jair Jurrjens and left fielder Martin Prado, the two players whose names surfaced in trade discussions with the Royals, according to Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star.

Heck, the Braves would trade just about anyone for the right price — and moving Jurrjens, in particular, could make sense.

Can't we tell Chipper hang them up and  put Prado at 3rd?

That's what I said two years ago. The Braves are killing the team by keeping Chipper around. He's making $14 mil a year to be on the injured list.

Chipper only played 3 less games than Martin did last year. Had a better average too. Not saying that the money is well spent but just saying your argument as stated is flawed.

also he only played 2 less games than B-Mac.

I thought my answer was obvious, not a myopic one year reference, so I will give a more detailed answer.

Chipper will be 40 in April 2012 when baseball season gets going
Prado will be 28.

Chipper last player 150 games (out of 162 in a season) in 2003.
Prado is 28 and still has a future in front of him.

Chipper makes $14 mil a year.
Prado makes $3.1 mil a year and is 28 years old with a future in front of him.

Chipper makes $14 mil a year. How many quality players or prospects could we possibly get with such money?
Prado makes $3.1 mil a year and is 28 years old.

Starting with 2004 thru 2011, Chipper has averaged playing around 123 games a year.

Chipper has been a great player for the Braves, but his time is over and we need to move on. It's the team that's important, not Chippers ego. His salary can be a huge boost for the team iif looking for players in a trade, free agent signing, or investing in new talent.

Depending on an injury-prone 40 year old player is a prescription for disaster. It's possible he could rebound next year, play 145-150 games, and be productive, but do we take such a chance with a 40 year old player, instead of a 28 year old player? Just wondering.

Have to agree, Marshal. I am grateful for everything Chipper has given to the organization, but its time to step aside and get this team back on the right track (and reclaiming OUR division title from those stinkin' Fillies)
