I think JoePa will address the Media when the Admin let's him. He is going to stand in support of his School and team. That being said, I also think he needs to clear his name ASAP. RTR!

This is right.  He is Penn State to the core.  He would gladly fall on his sword to protect Penn State if he could.

If JoPa did nothing wrong he needs to be screaming he is innocent with or without the schools permission. He needs to hold a press conference ASAP and tell his side of the story. An innocent man does not stay quiet while his name is being drug through the mud.

Even if he is innocent he needs to step down. He is the head coach and that makes him responsible for what goes on in and around his program and facilities.

We only know about the tip of the iceberg. They are likely to be hundreds of young boys that were abused. Penn State needs to clean house and bring in a new coaching staff and administrators.

Right. He should have confronted Sandusky immediately, even if he had to get in his car and drive to his house.  If the allegations turned out to be baseless, Sandusky would still have appreciated a "heads up" from his friend (Paterno). Go to the police or raise 6 kinds of Hell until the higher ups got off their asses. Also, since this goes back maybe 5 years or more, he can't really hide behind the "I'm old and didn't understand" crap. Paterno is in a mess, unless everyone up there gives him a complete pass because he is Joe Paterno.

Exactly. It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a 30-year-old man to understand that such acts that Sandusky is being accused of are heinous criminal acts deserve the attention not just of your higher ups but law enforcement as well.

I'm sure that once Paterno "retires" the football part of the Athletic Department will be completely cleaned out of Paterno pals, syncophants, hangers-on, and the like.

The conversation at this house is how many years of prison should a person receive for looking the other way while children are raped. No one here wants to hear about how the grad assistant stopped by JoPa's office just to let him know Sandusky and a young boy had plenty of soap and hot water.

 You hear minorities talking about how the courts show favoritism to the rich and powerful. I dismiss that as nonsense. But this is the type of case they are speaking. Further, Paterno is not the Queen of England. Stop the figurehead nonsense. PSU and their officiating crews have been cheating visitors out of football games for years. Now they have cheated maybe a score of young men out of their childhood - probably have turned them into monsters. Time to quit making or listening to excuses. Joe Paterno hasn't been charged with anything--he deserves prison time.

but these words from one of the boys mothers are pretty powerful and I hope it
shames enough of them to do something ..

Among those not fooled by Sandusky were the mothers of two of the alleged victims. According to the grand jury summary, the mother of Victim 6, who made the initial allegation in 1998, confronted Sandusky about showering with her boy and he responded: "I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won't get it from you. I wish I were dead." As she told the Patriot-News of Harrisburg: "Jerry Sandusky admitted to my face, he admitted it. He admitted that he lathered up my son they were naked and he bear-hugged him. If they would have done something about it in 1998, and then again in 2002 — there was two chances. They dropped the ball and I think they should all be held accountable."
