I don't really see why, but that is wht most talking heads say. Because they would move Arky to 1 LSU to 2 and Bama to 3. leaving us out of everything but the SECCG.

Rivals.com College Football - Huguenin on BCS: Alabama in line for rematch

Quote
If LSU and Alabama win, it will be status quo at the top of the standings next week. If Arkansas and Auburn win, Arkansas is the SEC West champ - and presumably No. 1 in the BCS next week. But if Arkansas and Alabama win, things become much cloudier. Because Alabama, Arkansas and LSU each would be 7-1 in the division and 1-1 against each other, the tiebreaker would be broken by the BCS standings. But it's not quite that simple: If the highest and second-highest team among the trio are within five spots of each other in the BCS standings - which seems an absolute given - the tiebreaker goes to the team that won the head-to-head meeting between those two. In other words, there's no way to tell about the tiebreaker yet.

Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oklahoma upsets create BCS chaos - Stewart Mandel - SI.com

Quote
The upside is that Friday's upcoming showdown between No. 1 LSU and No. 3 Arkansas suddenly takes on even greater importance. Whichever of the three emerges from the cluster to reach Atlanta the following weekend will face another challenge from surging Georgia (9-2) in the SEC title game. The downside is that, in one of those only-in-the-BCS scenarios, the second-ranked Crimson Tide would be better off not winning their division. Despite losing at home in its biggest game of the season (9-6 to No. 1 LSU) and despite boasting victories over just three teams with winning records (10-1 Arkansas, 9-2 Penn State and 6-5 Florida), Nick Saban's team will likely cruise into the BCS championship game with a win Saturday over 7-4 Auburn and an LSU win over Arkansas. The same unwritten axioms pollsters have used to dismiss contenders in the past -- that a team must win its conference championship and that regular-season rematches are frowned upon -- might go out the window for lack of a better option.

Never know what the voters will do.  Huh?

I find it hard to believe they would put Ark ahead of Bama because of our 24 point victory over them if they beat LSU.

I would think it would move Bama to #1, Ark to #2 and LSU #3.

Just don't know though.

LSU wins over Ark and goes to SEC CG in Atlanta. Then rematch with Tigers and Bama in NOLA. Maybe our savest bet.

I'm not going to worry about LSU or Arky.  I'm just counting my blessings that Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Boise, and Oregon all lost to give us another chance.  That's enough for me.

We also need to root for ou vs osu to put the nail in that coffin.  I'm rooting for lsu (shudder) bc I don't want arky to jump us.

Here's the deal as I understand it. If Bama beats Auburn and Arky bets LSU, and if Bama moves to no 1 and Arky to no 2, Bama goes to the SECCG. If Arky moves to no 1 and Bama moves to no 2, then Bama still goes to the SECCG because of head to head. I can't imagine that they would keep LSU ahead of Bama if they lost to Arky. That would be incomprehensible. So as I understand it, if LSU loses then Bama wins the West, and I really want to win the SEC. Bama's goal every year is to go undefeated and win the SEC. To me, if we don't win the SEC then the season is not complete, even if we win a natl title. What a crazy season.

The only thing we control is the barn game. We need to beat the crap out of the boogers. We will be in good shape regardless of the LSU - Arky outcome. As far as the SEC CG any of the top 3 West teams will easily beat UGA. They are not that good.

Let me simplify it for everybody.  Alabama is in as long as we don't lose any games.  If Arkansas beats LSU, they might jump to number 1.  Who cares?  Alabama is not going to drop down a spot to 3rd just because Arkansas won.  Even if we only beat Auburn by one point, we still won't drop because everybody knows that anything can happen in a rivalry game.  Regardless of whether Arkansas goes to #1 or we go to number #1 and they go to #2, as long as we don't drop down a spot after a win we will go to Atlanta.  And we won't drop down with a win unless it is such an ugly win that we feel like we actually lost, which is not going to happen after last year's game.

If LSU wins, well they go to Atlanta and we are in the clubhouse waiting to see who we are going to play on 1/9.

Regardless of who wins between LSU and Arkansas, in all likelihood it won't change our status if we win our game(s).  It is a possibility that we could win the Iron Bowl and get voted down a spot, but the chances of that are almost non-existant in my opinion.

So who do we root for?  There are pros and cons to both outcomes.  If LSU wins, we will most likely get a rematch with them, which I would absolutely love to see.  The outcome would be much different this time around.  If Arkansas wins, then we will have a shot at the SEC Championship first, then probably a rematch with Arkansas.  We would not have a chance for revenge against LSU though.

I think I am going to root for LSU, then for us to beat them decisively in NOLA.  But I will be happy with either outcome.  Especially if we shutout Auburn and score as many points on them as everyone else has this year.

Would this be the first time two teams from the same conference play for a NC?  Since the start of the BCS it will continue to show the dominance of the SEC in college football.

If we take care of business then we don't have to worry it will fall our way. Even Chris Fowler said Saturday on Gameday he would vote for Alabama and he totally hates us. I have no idea why but he never has anything good for us. RTR!

I think it will be an all SEC West NCG regardless of who wins between LSU-Arkansas.  About the only way I could see it possibly not being like that would be if Alabama lost to Auburn, or the SEC West champ lost to UGA.

First and foremost, we need to take care of our business on Saturday. We put a whipping on the aubies and we are in.

Secondly I will root for LSU, I want to avenge that loss. Playing them in NOLA would be like a home game for them. All the sweeter.

I dont thin Arky can beat LSU, but I don't trust the media to get voters to but someone else in the Ntl champ game over Bama so I will root for LSU and hope that OSU loses too. then we are safe. If LSU was to lose to UGA i would ROTFL because there is no way that should happen. UGA is not good, I don't care what anyone says.

19-10 to UK?? What was there margin of victory over Tenn? UF? Vady?
