It would be a tough job for him but if he can turn that program around he will definitly be Bama's next head coach.

Mullen will be at Penn State before KS is at Ole Miss.  I'm only guessing, but it seems unlikely.

Could be but I think he could do a lot better waiting for a better place to start  out as a head coach.

Ole Miss is in the cellar with Kentucky at the bottom of the original members of the expansion to 12 SEC members in 1992!

Now add Missouri amd TAM and then Ole Miss is in the bottom 2 out of 14 SEC schools.

Possibly add two more next year or so making it a 16 team SEC league!

CKS may have a good opportunity at TAM. CMS underachived with TAM this year. They were predicited as a BCS bowl team. A school like TAM gets wind someone like CKS is interested, they might offer job to Smart.

JMHO!

Heck, Tennessee is not happy at all with CDD. Digressed this year big time!

Past 5 years Tennessee and Kentucky have won same amount of games only 33!

Coach Mike Shula was 26-23 in four years! Was only 2 out of 14 against Bama's rivals.

Another year at Bama for CKS and he maybe wearing orange pants in Knoxsvilla! in a year or so!

I would much rather see him go to another conference, the SEC is just too tough to learn how to be a head coach.

Maybe Arizona State and see if he can teach those idiots out there in the Pac-12 how to play defense.

That probably wouldn't be a bad move for him, he should be able to find him a good OC out that way to tuck under his wing for the future. We all know they play a lot of offense in that part of the country.

I just don't understand all this love for Kirby Smart to be the next Tide HC. Did some of  you guys learn nothing from the DuBose fiasco? Alabama needs a proven head coach, not a rookie. Plus, I'm not sold on Smart as a great HC hire. The Tide defense is due to Nick Saban, he's the real D coordinator. Even Ole Miss is probably too big a jump for Smart. Start someplace smaller, like East Carolina, Tulsa, even Memphis, then work your way up the coaching ladder. I want to see what he can do as a HC BEFORE he is mentioned as a HC at Alabama.

If they were in t town it was for saban.  Ole miss folks are truly delusional - they were saying tony dungy for a while with peyton manning as oc.  Like I said, they have an inflated sense of worth. Wink

It could but I don't think it will, CNS has a way of handling such distractions, especially when the NCG is on the line.

I think he will be at Alabama again next year. He doesn't seem to excited about jumping ship even when his name is mentioned so much. RTR!
