So,--if we run into Sherman do we just act like everything's cool?

Aggies will fire Sherman either tonight or Friday morning

By Kirk Bohls | Thursday, December 1, 2011, 05:41 PM

Mike Sherman will be fired as Texas A&M’s head coach either later today or early Friday morning, the American-Statesman has learned.

A prominent Texas A&M alumnus with strong ties to the Aggies’ athletic department said this afternoon that the decision was made today. A&M’s board of regents did not vote on the issue, but have discussed this since A&M’s 27-25 loss to Texas on Thanksgiving night.

“The decision was made today,” the source said.

Those Aggies know that if you 're gonna play in the SEC you have to play for 60 minutes, not 30. They blew a lot of games this year in the second half.

Kevin Sumlin is the leading candidate to replace Sherman at A&M if the reports are true. Sumlin was rumored to have received Ariz St offer

Sherman was 25-25 and  making 2.4 million per year at TAM!

Rumors are out there about Mack Brown's retirement.

Just rumors though!

For now.

Report: Texas A&M to fire Mike Sherman

As more and more coaches have been relieved of their duties in the last week, many people were wondering whether or not Texas A&M's Mike Sherman would survive the week. Well, while we haven't officially heard anything from Texas A&M about it, it doesn't sound like he will according to the Austin American-Statesman's Kirk Bohls.

Bohls tweeted on Thursday night that Texas A&M has decided to fire Sherman, though the school has not yet notified him.

Texas A&M's exit fee from the Big 12 will be between $10M and $20M, a well-connected Aggie says.

Sherman seemed like a bad hire from the beginning.  Not saying the man doesn't know football, but I question his ability to identify with and motivate young men 18-22.  Moreover, I never thought he could go into a living room and sell A&M and himself to a 17yo and his parents.

The Texas A&M firing of Sherman means there will be quite the bidding war for the coaching services of Kevin Sumlin very soon.

Early this week a tentative 2012 football schedule was floated out of the SEC offices about TAM games next year with all SEC west opponents and an east!

Road to trips to Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge and Gainesville for an Eastern foe.

Also maybe one to Little Rock.

Coach Mike Sherman should consider himself a lucky man and walkout with the buyout monies!

I've thought that since early on.  Was it Oklahoma State first?  Then Arky.  Turrible.
