If he didn't want to leave Boise State then why didn't Boise State just join the Pac 10 when they restructured.

The Big 12 ain't quite the Big 12, they need a couple of teams and BS would be a good fit there. But my contention is BS wants to whine about no respect but they aren't going to put their selves in a conference where they have that much competition. Any body can get up for one game but BS couldn't withstand the week-after-week competition. A team that can't make it through their schedule doesn't deserve a BCS bowl. JMHO

Truth be told, no one wants Boise State in their conference.  Low academic standards, BLUE TURF!  Enough said.

The Big East decided to suck it up and invite Boise for football only in a last ditch effort to save their conference and retain their AQ status.  But I suspect that none of the Presidents or ADs in the Big East were particularly excited about the invite.

I agree with Petersen, the BCS is unfair. I think they usually get the top game right but their are some really crappy matchups after that in most years.

Penn State Coaching Search: Chris Petersen Reportedly High On List


Boise State coach Chris Petersen's name has been linked to nearly every big college football head coaching vacancy over the last few seasons, and though he's been rumored to be on the short list to replace Joe Paterno at Penn State almost from day one, there's been a lack of hard reporting to back up any interest from the Nittany Lions in the current Broncos head man.

@ugly_rumor With Kellen Moore leaving and getting left out of the BCS, I can definitely see Petersen going somewhere.
