Is it legal to be speaking Cuban with the embargo and all?  Don't want to get SuperCoach in trouble here...

You're ok as long as you don't buy any cigars from there.

Good post 55. I was thinking the same thing this past weekend. The Big 12 was still playing regular season games while all other teams still playing earned their way to a conference championship game.

Playing a regular season game on the last weekend did not help Oklahoma State but it certainly helped Baylor. Two weeks ago RGIII was not going to be invited to NY for the Heisman Dinner. This week he is not only getting an invitation he is the front runner. According to reports he has jumped TR and Luck who did not play last weekend. 55 is right, it is not fair.

Why are conferences being rewarded now for NOT having a championship game, big12 teams get another bye so they can play on the day of the conference championships. This gives them a few advantages other than the extra bye game, let's use Andrew Luck as an example. First he doesn't get the extra week to recover from rough games, second he doesn't play on the "last day" because his team lost one game to a BCS team so he doesn't get to go head to head on the last day with RG3 who's team in most years would also not compete in the conference championship but he gets the two byes plus the advantage of playing on "championship weekend" and having HUGE numbers. Luck may have had HUGE numbers the last game of the season but what have you done for me lately. Now let's take this to something more dear to our hearts, Bama stomped a BCS top 25 team the last game of the season just as Oklahoma State did, we can argue about the quality of the opponent but the fact is Oklahoma didn't play well against anyone but Texas, a team that was stomped by Baylor by the way. Oklahoma State is getting much more press because again, what have you done for me lately, plus they get the bye.

I propose everyone should get an extra bye and the conference championship games moved back a week.
Yep, good point.  Something was wrong about the Big12 dominating the final weekend, in terms of coverage and number of games.

True, but thankfully in this case it didn't help.

Am I wrong to think they are planning to go back to at least 12 schools and have a championship final week like the rest?

I thought they were looking at adding more schools to have the required 12 for championship game.

IDK, I just think if you're going to call your conference "The Big 12" that maybe you should have, let's say, 12 teams?

That's why I like you, 2. You are the eternal optimist.

Not really, but I do know how to count to 12.  Tongue

pmull, you are 100% correct. MFBATR was leading the Heisman vote after the Iron Bowl. Now looks like RGIII will win trophy!

Big 12 playing this past weekend may have cost Trent and Alabama it's second Heisman.

I hate to think that TR is probably going to get screwed out of the Heisman, but something tells me he will be plenty happy with some other hardware come Jan. 9:
