Commentary: Auburn at a crossroads

I ask because as of now, he hasn't proven anything. Remove that 14-0, Cam Newton-produced season last year and Chizik is an unremarkable 20-29 as a head coach.

I'm not sure, but haven't most INTELLIGENT football people been saying this for over a year now?

The only reason they were ever worth a crap before, is that they were getting the recruits while Bama was on probation. Oh how times have changed.

Josh Moon and The Montgomery Advertiser are very pro Auburn. This article surprises me that Moon actually is writing the truth. I think this column is spot on. The barn ship is taking on water and they better do something about it quickly or it will be too late. During my lifetime the barn only did well when Bama was down. Well Bama is back. Coach Saban has us winning at a rate not seen since the late 70's under Bear Bryant.

I am shocked, shocked that Barner extraordinaire Moon would write such a column.  It guess it got so obvious that even he couldn't ignore it.  RTR!!!

These statements give clear insight into the barn burning to the ground as we speak.

All due respect to a guy only a year removed from a national title, but why should anyone believe that Chizik will experience long term, sustained success as a major college head coach?

I ask because as of now, he hasn't proven anything. Remove that 14-0, Cam Newton-produced season last year and Chizik is an unremarkable 20-29 as a head coach.

But one season of solid work doesn't make a coaching legend. It doesn't even signify coaching competency. Just ask Larry Coker (former Miami Hurricanes coach).

The defense, for the third consecutive season, was epically bad. The offense was stagnant most of the year too.

The Tigers were blown out by every good team they played.

And there seems to be a bit of a problem with discipline, Michael Dyer, has been removed from the team for rules violations.

In addition, Chizik landed the Auburn gig based solely on his work as a defensive coordinator. And in three years, he never had an answer for Auburn's defensive issues, either.

 From this point forward, the key to Auburn's future, and to Chizik's future at Auburn, is how the head coach moves the program out of this mess.

Malzahn's surprising decision to bolt to Arkansas State suggests even those within the program have serious doubts about its future.

"Real Train Wreck"!

The engineers and brakemen jump out of both lead locomotives before head end collison! All diesel locomotives on the "Class One Railroads" have dashboard mounted cameras.

New locomotives also have "GPS" antenna and other communication equipment located inside a huge dome mounted on roof ofengine cab for communications and poistioning.
