We open with Michigan in Dallas and have to go on the road to Arkansas, Mizzou, Tenn and LSU.

Quote
Alabama was the ultimate winner in college football during the 2011 season. But the Crimson Tide might not be set up for a repeat performance in 2012.

And it might not be because of a lack of talent (something Alabama hasn't really experienced since Nick Saban arrived). According to ESPN colleague Ryan McGee, Alabama might not hoist the crystal ball in Miami next year because of its schedule.

McGee named his top 10 early schedule losers in 2012, and Alabama came in at No. 1. It was the only SEC team to make his list.

Arkansas and LSU are the only 2 that could be an issue.

Arky is losing quite a lot of players this year. They may not be the issue people think they will be.

Only Arky and LSU pose problems if we bring our A game.  However, a number of those teams could pull an upset if we phone one in, and therein lies the danger.

Dude hasn't seen a single Saban vs Arkie game I guess.  That offense will not work against Nick's D.

I see Michigan being able to test our defense early.  I wish we had them later in the year after our guys got a few more games under their belts.

This schedule reminds me of 2010. We struggled at USCe. We should have beat LSU and the barn but we didn't. We will be a little younger on the defense next year and this road schedule could give us problems if we are not ready to play every week.

The bookies give a point or two for home field advantage. We won all games (but 1) by 16 or greater. Lets not get panicky.

They will all be hard games because everyone likes to give the defending champs all they got.

Everyone plays Bama tough just because they are Alabama.

Their QB and Knile Davis will be back.  I have no idea what they will look like on defense.  Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then (see Les), and CBP is bound to get lucky one of these years.  It is always a good early test for how the season will go.

Yeah, we will have young players, on the road, getting everyone's A-game.  It  will be quite a test.   I wouldn't discount Mizzou just yet, either, that's a place Bama has never played.  They won their bowl game, and didn't they beat that team (Iowa State) that beat the team-that-shoulda-coulda-but-didnt (OkSt) 52-17?  That bears repeating, 52-17.  Hear that OkSt, there's a reason you're still in the BigWhatever Conference, playing in the chips and dip bowl.  Losing to a team that Missouri beat 52-17, and getting lucky to beat Stanford, no, you didn't belong.  Slide you right out of any serious consideration.
