Santos was closest to Sirmon, and though he did like the Vols' hiring of new defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri -- Alabama's former assistant head coach and linebackers coach -- Santos continued to have second thoughts.

Even CSS can't wash the stink off of that program right now.

Whoever is the coach is going to have to undo and make Fulmer smile. You never know what this guy is up to trying to get the UT job back. JMHO! RTR!

They are down right now but Tenn is still a good coaching job. It is one of the top 5 jobs in the SEC and one of the top 15 in the nation. I doubt they will go after an assistant. If CDD does not work out (and it does not look good) I think they will go after a 'Big Hire' and try to get things back on track in Knoxsville.

True pmull. It is a top notched job for sure.

Dooley's first year as HC, Tennessee looked like they were improving.

This past year looks like he is down to the 2012 season to make it or break it.
