Tuscaloosa's Houndstooth Sports Bar and Birmingham's Garage Cafe have been named as two of the 50 best bars in the South by Garden & Gun in the magazine's "50 Best Southern Bars" feature.

Houndstooth was ranked the No. 1 college sports bar in the country by Sports Illustrated in 2005.

Birmingham's Garage Cafe was also included on the list as a "hidden gem" along with Tujague's, a New Orleans bar near Cafe du Monde.

I thought it to be next door. Anyway, a good place to pick up 3 fingers of bourbon AND smoke a cigar indoors, without being treated like Joran van der Sloot.
