This article blames the prosecution for stressing the man to death. Looks like McGregor benefited the most from Crosby's death.
Crosby was making $150,000 per year as a state analyst. Plus all those state perks.
These state and county employees make way too much money.
An analyst for the Legislature, Crosby was accused of taking monthly payments from McGregor and using his position to alter bills to benefit the casino owner.
On Friday, a coroner ruled the death natural and attributed the cause to hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
The Associated Press reports Crosby's friends question if he died from the stress of what they called an overreaching federal prosecution.
Since his death, Crosby's friends talked about how his indictment caused him to retire from his $150,000-a-year state job, go through a divorce, run up big legal bills, put his house up for sale to raise money and eventually file for bankruptcy four days before his death. He was so broke by the end that he couldn't pay an attorney for the retrial, and a federal judge had to appoint one to represent him at government expense.
