Well, it looks like we have reverted back to our old, stale offense. Throw in to Greene, he gets double or triple teamed and then he tries to score anyway and misses the shot which the other team rebounds.

Once again, our inability to block out and/or rebound has bit us in the rear. No way we should have lost the rebound on a foul shot. Don't they teach these BB basics at Bama. This was taught when I was 12 years old.

We made them play our game. We shot over our heads. Still got beat.   Angry

Someone needs to sit down and figure out a half court in-bounds play (for next year).  Sad

What is wrong with Grant and this team? When we get to the end of a game, the coach and the team has a brain freeze. First, Grant doesn't call a time out with 4.7 seconds left, then calls one with 2.4 seconds left, whcih means we have to rush the shot. Then, we have Releford (5'11") guarded by a guy 6'7" and Releford attempts a half ass shot from beyond 3 point range which the taller guy partially blocks. Plus, we want to go to Greene under the basket but he's double teamed under the basket. That's the best Grant can come up with?!! Greene under the basket?Huh? Wow, that was creative.

I thought the purpose, or part of the purpose, for suspending Green was for him to play his position and quit chasing point guards down for the ball. Here we are in the middle of March and he still does it. We had the opportunity to beat this team in halfcourt ball by playing down low. No sense in them outrebounding us except our big guys were out of position.

I've been listening for an hour on CBS on how to pronounce Missouri. But none of them can pronounce Norfolk.

I think everyone is being too rough on Green.

I don't think his supension had anything to do with his play on the court. Remember, CAG said he sent the players home from Baton Rouge because he learned something that happened back in Tuscaloosa. This leads me to believe it was not basketball related.

We kept passing the ball into Green and he kept getting double teamed, etc. I think CAG told the team he wanted the offense to go through Green. I may be wrong but passing it around the perimeter was not working.

It was a close game. We should have won. I'm bummed out about. No moral victories here. But if you have to place blame there is plenty to go around. Randolph was 2-6 from the line. He missed two critical free throws. How can we let McDerment do that simple backdoor cut all day long for a layup. We left that big tall ugly fellow with a beard wide open for 3 or 4 three pointers.

It was fun while it lasted. Nobody wanted to be one and done but better days are ahead for our basketball program.

It's the way we lost that has everyone upset. The confusion at the end of the game and poor play calling were inexcusable. Plus, we were 4/11 from 3 point range, so why weren't we shooting more of them?

 Huh?

Well it is 'rubber meets road' time in Tuscaloosa.  CAG has been given the time necessary to put his own product on the floor. They'll be young but seasoned. If there is not a dramatic improvement next year, with or without Mitchell, then it is time to reevauate CAG's relationship with The University of Alabama.

I think we will be in good shape next year. We have very good players. They were young this year and another off season in the weight room and summer ball will help them a lot. We only lose J Green. He will be missed. IMO Mitchell is gone. I don't know what we have coming in for recruits but I hope they are as good as the freshmen we had this year.

Nobody likes to lose. We should have won today's game. But don't get down on our team because our basketball program is on the rise. We will only get better.

I'm not down on the team, I'm down on Coach Grant. We can't keep having these kind of close, end-of-the-game losses. I'm still with the team & Grant all the way, but we need major improvement in rebounding, game management, & overall offense. I kinda think Mitchell may be coming back, as strange as that sounds. I'm very excited about the team for next year. Plus, we need to work Gueye/Engstrom into the lineup.

Great effort by the players. Probably the best I have seen them play, up until that 5 or 6 minute slump when everything fell apart.  Bama should have won this game.  Experience will help next year.

I didn't get the play calling at the end.  Why did CAG call that timeout?  Let the players play.  CAG needs to get some tips from Gottfried about end of game management, at least that guy could draw up a play.
