That is so SWEET! Aren't animals wonderful.
Everytime I think about animals being mistreated, I just about want to die. Wish I had the courage to help with that sort of thing....not many people do I guess. But I couldn't live with a 24 hour broken heart so I just put it out of my mind. We have a large humane society here, should join.
I agree once again! I love my animals. Our crazy brown dog, Ladybird, was rescued along a highway where she was lying almost dead. She wasn't injured, just dehydrated and starved. Our beloved KokoPuf was rescued from the steps of the old Methodist church late at night. Hedduk said I was taking someone's dog but the preacher's kids said she had been there 3 or 4 days and the kids at the student center were feeding her - she was about 3 months old. Finally, when he kept protesting, I put my hands on my hips and said "You might be leaving an angel on the steps of the church!" Well, you know the rest of the story!
I am considered the neighborhood rescue lady and the kids have brought me birds and baby squirrels. Years ago I raised a wild rabbit in our whirlpool tub (which is never used) In Atlanta I raised a baby raccoon that was in my backyard. And my greatest little love was Lucky, my flying squirrel, who lived for almost 7 years. This is the second year I haven't had an animal to rescue and I really miss my little wild creatures. All our wild creatures were released except for the flying squirrel who had seizures and couldn't survive outdoors. He also hated trees and would not get on one! He'd just jump back on me!
