The Braves and September blend together about as well as oil and water. Wink

I hear ya. They're 8 up with a magic number of 4. They were up by 15 at one point.

Yep, at the first of September.

That win was huge, it headed off what seemed to be another September disaster for the Braves. I don't know if any of you watched but the Braves went down 2-0 late and the next inning was something to see.

The home plate umpire seemed to have a "moving" strike zone all night and called called ball four on a Nats batter at what seemed to be a strike three call. Woods, the Braves pitcher, immediately went after the umpire verbally and then Braves manager Gonzalez followed. Both were tossed from the game and this lit the fire for the Braves at the next at bat as they scored three runs to take the lead on two home runs.

Dodgers just clinched their division by beating Arizona. The Braves must keep winning so they have the best record in the NL and have home field advantage thru the playoffs.

It is going to be hard unless the Braves reel us off some 2 out of 3 and 3 out of 3 stands. I know they may need to rest some of the players but they need to have the whole thing in hand. RTR!

Boston won again last night. They clinched a playoff spot with the win. Their magic number to win the division is 1. They have the best record in the majors at 93-61 so they should end up with the best record in the AL and get home field advantage. The Red Sox changed coaches and made some big roster moves that have paid off big. I think they will be difficult to beat in the playoffs.

They've got a team full of good sticks. They will be hard to beat.

Starters Lackey, Lester and Buchholz are pitching great right now to go along with those bats.

Yeah, their pitching got healthy at the right time. Big Papi is having as good a year as he's had in a while and the bearded boys are ripping the cover off of the ball. Life is good for Sox fans.

Lackey pitched a gem last night. Too bad it came at the expense of the O's.  Banging your head against the wall. Banging your head against the wall.

Yea if the O's don't win the next 2 they may be just a little to late. They have some great bats, I just can't figure out what is the problem. I do think Buckie Showaltzer can put a good product on the field. They improve each year. RTR!

Braves need one more win or a loss by the Nationals to clinch their division, they beat the Cubs9-5 today. The Nationals are leading the Marlins 7-0 so it looks like the Braves will have to wait at least one more day.

I'd love to see the Braves win out to get home field advantage. If the Dodgers get it, and the Braves get that far, they will have to go West to win it all and the Braves, historically don't do that great playing out there.

Red Sox win again and clinch division title. They are in good position to also get best record in the AL which will give them home field advantage.
