I'm very surprised at their good start with all of the injuries to their pitching staff.

Well at least the Braves are winning. The O's are stinking it up right now.  Banging your head against the wall.

The good news is that the pitching has been great the first time through the rotation.  The bad news is that the offense has been terrible.  They'll need to score a lot of runs this year to be in contention.

Yep! They did get 6 yesterday, though, which is their best output yet.

The Upton brothers got two hits each yesterday, maybe they are about to start earning all of that big money they are being paid. So far that has been one bad investment for the Braves.

The Braves went to the B9 with a 2-1 lead, blew the save, then won with a walk-off homer in the B10.

4 - 2 Braves!  Woot!

Braves are 13-6 and have a 2.5-game lead.

Gattis has got to be one of the strongest players with the bat I've ever seen in baseball, he is amazing. His bat swing is so quick and powerful, he never strides toward the pitcher when batting, he just swings with his arms, amazing. The other amazing part about his story is how he ever made it to the majors, kudos to the young man.

Thanks, J.  I went back and read about him after seeing your post.

The Braves (Friday night) jumped on Cincy 5-0, then held on to win 5-4.
The finish was under review (close play at 1st), and 2 men were left on base.

Whew.  Braves are 15-7.
But the bullpen is leaking oil.

As a team, fewest runs given up in MLB by 17.  19 quality starts in 23 games.  Only two pitchers, starter or reliever, with an ERA over 3.00.  And all this with three of the top four starters on the DL to start the season.  I'll take it.

Glad to see the Braves are still doing great. I rarely get to see them up here unless they are playing the Nats or are on Sunday nigh baseball.

Just to add in some other color, O's get a walkoff win last night in the 10th as Nick Markakis gets an RBI single with the bases loaded. They have won three of the last four and will look to take their second straight series today.

The Braves won on another walk-off Sunday.  This time Freddie Freeman came up with a two out blast off the center field wall in the bottom tenth with Jason Heyward scoring the game's only run from 2nd.  The game featured a brilliant pitcher's duel between Julio Teheran and Johnny Cueto.

It's been a fun month to be a Braves fan.  I hope they can keep it up going into the summer.

Yes it has, despite the bad injury bug that has hit the team.
