Report: George 'Goober' Lindsey dead at age 76

I have a daughter going to North Alabama next year. We have been going to the UNA website on a regular basis lately. The picture below has been on their home page since his death.

My uncle was decent friends with George during his time at Florence State.  Of course they lost touch after a few years of going their own ways.  He always spoke well of him.

I spent two days on the UNA campus last week with my daughter for student / parent freshmen orientation. Several of our meetings were in the George Lindsey Theater. Idid not know they named a building after him. Ole Goober must have donated some big money through the years.

He's had a benefit film festival there every year for as long as I can remember.
