Five-star prospect Devonta Pollard, a 6-foot-7, 190-pound forward from Porterville, Miss., will make his college choice Friday during a 5 p.m. ceremony at his high school, Pollard's mother, Jessie, confirmed to the Tuscaloosa bureau on Wednesday. Along with Alabama, Pollard will consider three other schools: Missouri, Georgetown and Texas.

According to ESPN.com's David Telep, Pollard signed National Letters of Intent to all four schools May 16, the last day recruits could sign binding agreements with colleges during the spring signing period.

Pollard, who played at Kemper County High in Dekalb, Miss., is one of just a handful of 2012 graduates across the country who have yet to make their college decision and he's by far the highest-ranked among that group.

Rivals.com ranks Pollard as the 22nd-best player from the class of 2012. 247Sports considers him to be the eighth-best small forward and the 26th-best overall player.

Pollard, a McDonald's All-American and Mississippi's Mr. Basketball, averaged 23.8 points, 15.7 rebounds and 5.1 blocked shots this season. Among numerous honors, Pollard was named the state's Gatorade Player of the Year and was the MVP of the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.

Pollard made his official visit to Alabama on April 6 and was spotted with coach Anthony Grant at a Crimson Tide softball game. One week later, he was at Georgetown on the final official visit of his recruitment. Mississippi State was in the mix for Pollard until former coach Rick Stansbury's retirement.

Of the four schools, Missouri appears to be the least likely destination for Pollard. The Tigers offered their last scholarship to transfer Jordan Clarkson, a guard from Tulsa, earlier this month, according to the Columbia Tribune.

Alabama, meanwhile, has plenty of room for Pollard. The Crimson Tide has yet to sign anyone from the class of 2012 and has three scholarships available.

We will see. Bama is closest to his home. CAG taking him to a softball game maybe showed off a lot of women and a championship atmosphere. While Missouri is now SEC, he would have a higher profile at Alabama. I guess it comes down to whether or not CAG sold him on the future.
